The Carhartt story began in 1889 in Detroit, when Hamilton Carhartt began manufacturing durable workwear for railroad workers. What started as a small, two-sewing-machine company grew into an internationally renowned workwear manufacturer whose products are known for their durability, functionality, and timeless style.
